Staying Motivated

Your success depends on one thing: your ability to stay motivated. No matter how hardworking and focused you are, there comes a point when the road uphill can feel overwhelming. The key to success is anticipating these moments by having a motivational go-to that encourages you to persevere. Again, it’s really all about how you feel, and the ability to change negative emotions into positive emotions is all it really takes to stay on track.

Today, we’d like to share our top four go-to tips for staying motivated.

1. A vision board

If you don’t already have one of these, you need one. This board should have visual representations of the things you want in life. There are no limitations here and no judgment. If you want to add your dream car, dream home, images you’d like to have on the cover of your book, the world is your oyster—add whatever feels right.

Keep this board somewhere private, so it’s not subjected to the scrutiny of others. Your dreams are personal, so never let the opinions of others change what you believe is possible. Feel free to clean up your board, so that it evolves as you evolve. In time, you’ll start noticing that everything on your board is materializing.

2. Affirmations

They say that repeating affirmations when you are fearful or in a negative headspace can do more harm than good. However, I like to listen to the repetition of positive affirmations as I’m working. I sometimes imagine that it’s filling me with positive energy on a subliminal level.

3. Write letters to yourself

You can be your best motivator. Write a letter to yourself on a day that you feel filled with passion and purpose. On these days, you are connected to your source, so make sure this letter is very detailed and infused with the joy you’re feeling. I know this sounds like a long letter, but it doesn’t have to be. It can be a single sentence that strikes the right chords. Keep this letter with you. On days when it feels like you’ve lost your way, use this letter to guide you back to your purpose.

 4. Ask for help

Christian scriptures say that we have not because we ask not. That said, no matter your religion, don’t be afraid to use your mouth to ask for guidance. God/ The Universe is always listening, “Ask, and you shall receive.”

Again, these are tricks we use to stay motivated, but we always want to hear from you. How do you stay motivated?
